Franco Borgogno

Franco Borgogno is a journalist, environmental science communicator, and environmental hiking guide. He serves as a Park Guide in the Protected Areas of the Maritime Alps, where his deep connection to nature informs his work. A passionate advocate for both mountain ecosystems and alpine wildlife, Borgogno is equally dedicated to the sea—the origin and driving force of life on Earth. His focus encompasses Ocean Literacy, plastic pollution, climate change, and biodiversity protection.

Borgogno has participated in three Arctic expeditions (2016, 2018, and 2019), and authored two books, A Sea of Plastic and Plastic, the Solution is Us: Stories of Women, Men, and Children Doing the Right Thing (Nutrimenti Edizioni). His work spans a wide array of environmental research, from the Mediterranean to rivers and alpine regions. He has delivered lectures, performances, and contributed to the creation of mini-documentaries, video installations, and photography projects.

 

Using diverse media and languages, Borgogno strives to engage a broad audience, sharing insights from firsthand experiences, conversations with researchers, scientists, and activists, as well as stories of individuals whose simple ideas and initiatives have the power to influence entire communities. His mission is to raise awareness and inspire action for a more sustainable future.
